It's exactly as it sounds,it's like dialog sort of its just more expressed feelings and a impressions of your mood.
The way you respond to the responder is what makes the dialog feel alive and more realistic. It basically makes the things you say and aproach and hear apear to matter a little more.
Great ideas here! I agree with you that the reader response makes the reading matter a little more when we think and read and write about our reading.
